ok so did your new bulb break or did your stock one break on the way to get your new ones?? im confused here , if you did get your new ones in what do they look like, im about ready to get some HID's since mine came without , BTW if your bulb is in your headlight(i know this sounds getto) but get a hanger in wrap it in duct tape, heat up the duct tape a little bit(not till its melting though) just till it gets quite sticky, (DONT OVER HEAT IT!!!) stick it in your lamp and just touch the old bulb it will stick right too it, we did this in my friends jeep and worked great, just dont tough the inside of the headlight, you will have a hell of a time cleaning it

just a suggestion if you have a better idea use it

sorry for confusion

mean while i was waitin for my HID, i bought those cheap ones that looks like HID, paid $25 for 9006 and 9005

and one of 9006 just blew up yesterday while i was going to pick up my HID.. #$%#$ i could barly take out that other peace out of my light..

great idea by the way... but we use shirt hanger that made from metal cord.. so we used that to take out that other peace..

anyway.. tonight is the night! i'm right after my work i'm going to install my HID 8K yeah baby! and make some pictures and post them .. either tonight or tomorow

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there's no such thing as an 8000K automotive hid light bulb. 8000K isn't brightness, it's color. 8000K on the light spectrum is dark dark violet. It would be dimmer than your turn signal lights. 6000K is the highest kelvin rated bulb in production and I don't see anything higher than that ever being produced. 4100Kk is used in BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus, Jaguar, etc. It is slightly blue tinted due to optics. For a true daylight white HID, look between 4000K and 5000K. Anything advertised as 7000, 8000, 9000, and I've even seen 10000K is a BS scam. 10000K is beyond black lighting! They are most likely painted bulbs which would only work to reduce the gross lumens outputed. If you're driving a Lexus, please put in QUALITY HIDs. For bulbs, buy only Philips, Osram, or Sylvannia. For ballasts, buy only Valeo, Bosch, Denso, Philips, or Hella. HID kits by K2, Evolution, Vision, Hana are all Korean made and all from the same factory. Any ballast that is unlabelled or unbranded is most likely generic Korean-made.

Also worth noting, any bulb that would be 7000k or higher would serve to reduce visibility, lighting, and contrast and in that case, a stardard $30 2000-3000k halogen lamp would be BETTER. I just now read through the thread and let me reiterate: Kelvin is a rating of absolute color temperature, not brightness. Brightness is measured in standard ANSI Lumens.

well that's what I was worried about. Although they might be transparent, who knows if it's really 8000k or what. Because there has NOT been any 8000k bulbs out there, it's hard to distinguish between 6000k and 8000k. I was thinking that maybe they're giving you 6000k bulbs and claiming them to be 8000k. But I haven't seen them so I can't make any assumptions.

It's just weird that if PIAA, Philips, Hella, and other famous car lighting companies don't have any 8000k bulbs released yet, how can you get your hands on a set that is made by someone else?

The bulbs themselves won't say anything like 6000k or 8000k, so physically you can't tell the difference by looking at the bulbs. Just like the white halogen bulbs out there, they might say 4000k 5000k even 6000k brightness, but they're all blue/white, and they're all blue glass bulbs.

Just looking after you that's all.
