If you start your car up in power mode, the engine temp warms up faster vs not having it on at all? I could be wrong and totally crazy, but from my experience this has proven t be true

Are you testing this with the car idling in a parking space or driving?

With power on ,your car is revving at higher rpm before shifting . that explains the faster warm up

I hear ya. Im just over the border in Indiana. I let the car run for 10 to 15 minutes before leaving for work which is about 2 miles away. The car barely makes it up to temp.

I'm lovin' the Blizzak snow tires though, they hook up like craaazy!

as philly mentioned, in ECT PWR mode, your transmission control module is adjusting your shift points higher...and since RPM's mean revs per minute, the longer you stay at higher RPMs, the more times explosions happen in your engine

it could be just a figment of your imagination...but pay attention to where the baby shifts when you take it out next.
