Default System setup?

I am about to part out my system because I really need my trunk space. I will plan to upgrade my stock speakers and sub. Was wondering what setup are you running on the door speakers and the amps. Plus if anyone using a aftermarket free air sub for the rear deck. The Alpine Type Rs sounds great but I don't know if I go with the coxials or components.

A good set of components can't be beat... but it really all depends on your budget more than anything...

Stock speakers are good and I have a 10" soundstream.

But if I upgrade in the future I would go for Boston Acoustic for speakers and JL for subwoofer/s.

Part of the reason could be that these are things that have been talked about numerous times. Searching is your friend

i have been searching for these past few days but i can find anything solid or close related to my situation(stock Nav w/ML). I remember someone here had another headunit setpu right underneath the nav screen but i cant find it.

My ML amp went out so I have no sound. What are my options here? I dont think i want a new ML amp since they got for $300+ at dealer. So I want aftermarket amp and speaker, but will i be able to keep my Nav screen controls?

If MLs are like Nakamichi, then I think you can adapt just about any 5 channel amp. However; $300 is not bad for a plug and play amp. If you try a different amp, you will need to splice and find out the wiring layout for the ML system.

after dropping by some audio shops they gave me 2 options - get another ML amp or make a complete new system(new HU, amps and speakers). I really hope they were kidding. I've PMed some member who as i find out had ran aftermarket amps to their ML, but no replies yet.

Can someone chime in?! i need my tunes back.
