Each year these cars will only get cheaper and cheaper. There are a lot of things you need to consider with that 98 with 112K miles. Sure, if taken care of properly the engine mileage is not a problem, but there are a lot of other maintenance things that will/may need to be addressed if not done so already. Timing belt and water pump will need to be done. Lower ball joints will need to be addressed ASAP if not already done. Upper and lower control arm bushings. Steering rack bushings. Engine and trans mounts. These are just all common wear and tear things that a 10 year old 112K GS will need to have taken care of. Starter will also need to be addressed soon.

The key to knowing if $7500 is a good price or not is to find out if these things have already been addressed or if you will need to take care of them all yourself.

PS. Never mind, I see you decided not to get the car. There are a lot of good GS's out there and prices are dropping every month if not every day.

Oh well just get yourself a civic because your not gonna find a gs for 6500 unless its been crashed and fixed. Matter of fact just stay away from anything luxury based period because window shopping can be hazardous to your health.

Well I bought my first lexus GS300 in 2000 for 2500 with 140 000 miles, car was much cleaner than this GS400. I still have the car and it has 230 000 miles now. So this GS400 is not worth more than 6500. BTW honda civic holds value 5 times better than a V8 gas guzling premium only RWD car. And also let me ask you question wise *** would my lexus still be running if I was cheap to fix and it has 230 000 miles all maintained with oem stuff even before recomended interval?

Just messing with you lol and your right a v8 does guzzle gas thats why i'm trying to pull mine to get a 2j, but i dont think a civic holds its value better than a lexus lol unless your talking about a modded civic. What year was the lexus you got for 2500 cause if you can find deals like that your the man.

C'mon guys stay on topic...you got a great deal on your car, we get it. However it was a great deal, as mentioned earlier when buying a car we all need to be cogniscient of maintenence and wear. But, toyota engines are nearly ageless wonders "they last"! The prices i quoted will stand to be the current mkt prices while your opinion of whats worth what will be your poragative. On a side note, please don't bash our cars and compare them to civics! "Never crap where you eat son!"
