Default Ignition Upgrade

I have searched and wasn't able to find much...

Has anyone with little to no engine mods done an ignition upgrade? If so, which company, was the install hard, price, was/is it worth it, did you notice any difference is performance or gas mileage?

Thanks for your input!

Ignition as in a higher voltage spark or ignition timing?
Also, why would you do this without other more simple, more efficient mods

Does not make sense to do this mod and is probably the reason no one has replyed to you post.

I am looking to get better fuel economy and more HP at the same time. What do you suggest?

Stay off the gas pedal or buy a hybrid

Keeping up with all maintenance and proper tire pressure is the best way to get optimal fuel consumption on any vehicle. Don't waste any money on anything that says it will increase MPG, most likely it won't happend.

Okada Project makes some ignition upgrades for the GS300. You can check them out.

Nope and Nope. Just came across them in a magazine. They don't make any 430 stuff .

You will not gain anything by creating a bigger spark, that is mainly used on boosted vehicles. I don't know where you got the idea about an ignition upgrade can give you better MPG, but it's not true. Our ignition system is already a good one in stock form. Like I mention before keep up with your maintenance and tires pressure, aligment, etc...

just add a piggyback fuel controller and aftermarket intake/air filter ! it'll save you alot of money and time. and you'll get better gas mileage !

Or it could be because the 8 minute window was a minute or two shy of everyone having a chance to read/respond...

Let me get this straight, fuel controller and intake
Are you suggesting for him to run leaner There is no other way he can get better MPG than stock settings. All cars are detuned for emission and fuel economy not to mention most tuners will set A/F controllers to run at WOT. This is the worse fuel saving tip I have ever heard

took the words right out of my mouth.

though it isnt completely his fault, a lot of the ads on tv have misinformed saying that an aftermarket intake reduces restriction and improves mileage.

the point of an intake is to get more, cooler and more dense air into the engine to get more fuel into the engine.

adding an intake and tuning to use less fuel (i.e. lean) using an A/F controller not only cancels out any power gain you would normally see and also poses potential problems for the engine later on down the road.
