Default auto leveling Q

So I am replacing the headlights in my car that came without HID. If I swapt them out for HID, will I be able to use the auto leveling motors? Or if not, what else do I need??

Thanks,
Rock

No, you'll need a couple sensors for the leveling placed near the rear wheel. Or something like that - its in quite a few post so searching for it will give you a lot of information. Just a summary - its not worth it and pretty useless.

My guess is that you'll need some other expensive part(s) to make them work. At least you will have a better cutoff because of the HID reflector bowl.

use your stock headlights and do a projector swap! about the same cost and much more beneficial

or find someone who is selling the HID reflector bowls and swap them in to your lights along with an HID kit

Look at the reflector and see if there are a lot of lines or not. OEM HID reflectors have a lot more lines than halogen reflectors. Or you can pull out the bulb and see if they're D2R/D2S or not.

I think the front of the headlight says D2R?
And also there's a sticker on the right headlight (high beam) I think that's yellow if its HID

thats really your best bet
^^ yeah that would be a quicker way...

and Rockero28, if you planning to sell your non-hid headlight, pls let me know
