When I am driving, and if I jump on the accelerator or just start to go, sometimes the engine makes a large clank or clunk sound and then it keeps going. It used to do it every once in a great while, now just today it did it twice. It sound loud and the car kind of "drops" forward when it happens. Don't know what it could be... I have searched but nothing of that nature has come up, at least for me. It is not the brake booster or the air conditioner, I really think it does have something to do with the engine but I just don't know what.
Your not listening to the brake, you simply have a person sit in the car and apply the brakes, at the same time slowly engaging the gas pedal. The car will start to try to over power the brakes, and at this point you will be "power braking", while holding the brakes, rev the car and hold it once or twice at 2,500 rpm, this is cause enough twist or movement in the motor mounts to verify if it in deed the motor mounts.
O yea, I know what a power brake or brake boost is, I guess I just did not understand how this would determine my problem... but I get what you are saying. I will try this tomorrow... Thank you very much for your help!
