Default 60k service!!!!

stealership quoted me $1350 for the 60k service. sounds a little nuts to me. i am very tempted to take my car to a toyota dealer and have them do the work. do any of you do this? i am guessing i would save drastically on the labor, possibly a few of the parts as well. any input is appreciated. thanks.

hey my man huddleston down in arkansas do yourself a favor and follow the link below, and make a list of the things that the lexus dealer actually does and things they actually check and take the list to a local mechanic, preferably a toyota mechanic and tell them you want the things on your list to be done. it will probably cost you around $$350-550$$... i actually took mine to lexus for the 60k and after paying 1200 vowed to never do it again. my 90k should have costed around the same at lexus but i got it all done for like 450 at a reputable local mechanic...

Hey ICE,
What dealership did you go to? I'm in Greensboro and they quoted me at $1200-1300. Let me know so I can see them if I need any work done.

Huddleston, I ended up taking mine to the Toyota dealership as well. I couldn't see shelling out $1300.

I go to Hendrick Lexus in Charlotte. She told me that they have started doing a complete inspection of your car first. Then they only replace what is needed. She said the techs was telling them that some of the parts that was on the list to be changed was still in good condition. I do not know if that is a good thing or not but it is cheaper on the price. I have not had a problem with them so far.
