Uh yeah I have this problem. I had the car for about a month and a half and I realize that when I put the key into the driver's side door, it doesn't turn in either direction? But the key works in the passenger door and ignition. I'm wondering if the previous owner possibly had that lock changed (doubt it) or if something is messed up in the lock itself.

Any ideas or thoughts are much appreciated!

 

It sounds like the lock was changed. When you buy a new lock from Lexus you usually get 2 new keys with the lock. It will be a different cut from yours though. You must have the new lock re-coded to match you exsisting key or you will have the problem you are having. That would be my guess.

 

Possible the lock assembly was changed as they said above..Did you buy the car CPO?
Also the vin number matches on the door right?

 

I'll have to look into the vin# when I get out of work, I might just bring it in to lexus and see what they say. I got this car from a lady who was about to get repo'd.
