I'm looking around for another car. I came across a '98 GS400 for $10k. Its silver on black. It has nav and sounds like its been well maintained. It has 180k miles though.
10k seems too high to me, what do you guys think is fair?
(I'd love black on black but I haven't found any around soCal.)
Anything with black interior will be harder to find than gray or beige, but i think your priority should be more on mechanical reliability when picking up an older GS.
I looked it up on kelley blue book and in EXCELLENT condition it's worth $10,005, GOOD $9195 and FAIR $8030. I doubt it's in perfect condition at 10 years old, but I guess it's possible. I also looked it up with 180k miles, navigation and a few other little extras checked.....oh and that was Private Party pricing.
If it's a private owner, I'm sure you can haggle a little, but at least look at it and drive it before deciding. Maybe you can find something with lower mileage and newer. Don't rush it and always sleep on it and you'll make a good decision.
I think its to high. I just paid 7490 for 98 sbm with everything but navi and only had 150k
Like I said, maybe you can find something newer with less miles, but having lived in SoCal myself I know that EVERYTHING costs more there. It's not Kentucky.
I remember a small shack with 1280 sq.ft. cost $210k and that was 13 years ago. lol
