How to replace bulbs on Tail Lights
Can;t find any info on how to replace bulbs on the tail lights on the GS. The bottom light on 1 of my tail lights is either bad or the connection is lose b/c most of the time its out but sometimes it comes on. I need to fix this and am asking for directions or DIY guide.
I found nothing on this in the owner's manual, only "Take it to the Dealer".
I know you guys have good info on this am am seeking your help.
thanks,
Ted

If your talking about just replacing a regular bulb in your taillight, just pop your trunk and behind the tail lights - carpet - there should be little carpet flaps with velcro and that is what hides your bulbs.
i know in my 01 you have to pop a couple of plastic clips and then slip your trunkmat out from under the fender rail and you should see your housing right there, just locate the bulb you need to take out and either twist the boot or slip it out of the hole to get the bulb out and just reverse the process to put it all back.
Just did this the other day.
Behind your taillight (inside the trunk) you should see two plastic caps. Pop those caps out and use a socket wrench to unscrew the nuts holding the housing in place. You should be able to pull it out and replace the bulb or check how well the previous bulb is plugged in. If it still comes on occasionally, it's probably the connection or a bad wire.
Try replacing the bulb and see what happens. If that doesn't work, I'm not the person to help you
Hope that helps.

There are 2 screws and 2 nuts. The screws are located under to caps on the inner part of the taillight. They 2 nuts are behind the taillight closer to the quarter panel. Once these 4 are removed, remove the entire assembly giving you access to the bulbs.
