I recently swapped out LEDs for my reverse, outer and inner rear taillights and noticed that housing where the bulb inserts was melted. This is the first time the bulbs are being replace after about 9 years so the 168 bulb might have melted it or was is the factory LEDs? Anyone notice this
I have a slightly burnt-looking 168 socket for the left side inner light. Mine will probably end up melting like yours, since I've been driving with my headlights on at all times in an attempt to dry out the headlights... again... that's a never-ending battle that's driving me crazy.
The weird part is that all the light bulb sockets (outer/inner tail lights and reverse lights) do not appear to be melted. I think its just the heat from the 168 bulbs on the outer tail lights. Nonetheless, switched out to LEDs so no more heat.
