are you really chroming them with chroming machines? Or just use the paint stripper?

If you're just using paint stripper, then that'll only work for 98~2000 GS grills. 2001 and above has the new type grill which won't work with that method.

Default You can chrome a 2001....

Globe,
It is possible to chrome one of the 2001 gs grills...I have done it to my dad's 2001 430 using a gel based paint remover, I can post pics of it tomorrow evening when he gets home from work...too lazy to go downstairs right now.

enginyr,

Hmm.. Nice pictures.. Wonder who let you use them.. HAHA..
Remember the 2SAVVY tax for all your winning bids.. LOL

Good luck buddy!

Globe,

The only thing different with the 2001+ grill is the ribs are not totally chrome underneth.. Just a touch over half of the rib is dipped in chrome.. If you remove the black paint from it totally it is very hard to see..

hmm....... the last time I saw the 2001 grill, it wasn't just black paint. The 2001 grill I had had like clear-silverish layer of plastic over it, not just black paint like 98~00 grills. Anyone have closeup pictures?

Default hey guys.....

when you became a seller on e-bay did you have to give your credit card info and checking account? Cause I was trying to register as a seller, have a couple things worth selling, but they wanted both of those pieces of info when people tell me they just gave their credit card info....?

thanks guys...

Shwoooo good thing I didn't mod the add yet.....thanks super joe and lex 44...I don't really see this as a scam..Its took me about 2-3 hours to do it right. $25/hr labor fee, plus cost of application tools and removal. Infact If your hard up for time (Like most lexus owners) I'd probably send mine in too (but not for $75)hehe
