Default Speedo Gauge Dimness

I have a 2003 GS430 and I have noticed that the speedometer gauge is slightly dimmer thant the left and right gauges. Its not that big of a deal, but I was wondering what could be causing this and how I could go about getting it fixed. The car is a CPO....you think this is something I could get the dealership to do while its in for its 60k service?

Same thing for me. Wish there was a way to keep them bright all the time

if its a cpo, take it back to the dealer to fix. you're paying good money for that GS! so everything should be good on it.

Search is your friend... but here are 2 links that i have put together myself. I own a 01' 430, and for a long time i starred at the gauges and wondered the same thing, so i decided to disassemble them and find out...

My conclusion is that the reason why the tach is brighter is because it is a smaller area to light up, as well as in the fuel and temp side, you have a blockage of the light going through the plastic behind the gauges... and i think the speedo just is way bigger and has to have more light going through it... If you see my posts, you might understand a little better.

Let us know what the dealer says. They have to have this issue reported frequently. I also have a CPO and wouldn't mind getting this issue addressed.

My '03 GS3 lights are dim at night as well. Am I correct in reading that there is no fix in terms of using brighter bulbs? I don't care to change the gauges or colors.
