Need Help from someone with Experience
Alright, before you read any futher I just want you to know that I've searched the forum for the answer and haven't had any luck. On the interior lense of my headlight some type of white film has appeared and won't go away. It's not condensation, I'm not quite sure what it is but I would like to remove it. I think the only way to do this is to remove the lense from the housing and and cleaning it. My concern is 1: how should I remove the lense (Does a hair dryer really work?) and 2: how should I go about re-sealing the lense and making sure that I won't have a condensation problems later.

Go to the the "automotive care and detailing" section on first forum page. On the first page there is a thread regarding oxidation on the headlights ( titled... help cleaning GS300 headlights ). That is probably what is wrong w/ yours as well. It's an easy fix that I would try before doing anything drastic. It seems to be a common issue. Hope this helps. Welcome to CL.
I can promise you that it isn't oxidation. I will post a picture to show what I'm talking about. It truely is one the strangest things I've ever ran into regarding headlights.
You can use a heat gun to open your light,or put them in a oven set at 250 degrees for about 5 to 7 minutes to soften the glue but you must remove the 2 small screws on the housing first . Use some oven mits to handle the light and slowly pry the housing apart I use a old butter knife on the corner next to the highbeams.Once the lense is off hit it with some plastix and some handbuffing because you are polishing the inside its hard to get a buffer to fit.To seal them is the reverse order with the 2 screws and the oven or heat gun to resoften the glue but be careful not to melt the housing,I had the same problem with my lights on my old 1st gen hope that helps
