Default Programming a key. Help!!!

I did a search on the forum but I didn't find anything that will help me program my new key to the car. Here is my delema, I bought the car 3 months ago and only gotten one key from the old owner. I bought a new key and transponder from ebay, had it cut and I was able to program the remote to unlock and lock the doors. The part I have been having a problem with is the key programming. I don't know if this master key is the fourth of fifth one but is it true that you are limited to the number of keys you can program into the car and i need the ecm reflashed?

1. Insert an already programmed master key into the ignition. Do not turn.
2. Press and release the gas pedal 5 times.
3. Press and release the brake pedal 6 times.
4. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Insert the new key you want to program into the ignition.
6. Press and release the gas pedal one time.
7. Wait 1 minute. The security light will be blinking for this one minute. When it stops blinking your key is programmed. To end programming step on brake one time.

I was able to go through step 6. Step 7, the light just keeps on flashing and never stops? What does this mean?

Thanks in advance your newb club member

-Enter the car with a working pre-programmed key and close all doors.
-Simultaneously depress and release both the brake and the accelerator pedals.
-Within 5 seconds, insert the working pre-programmed key into the ignition. Do not turn the key.
-Within 15 seconds of inserting the ignition key, depress and release the accelerator pedal 5 times.
-Within 20 seconds, depress and release the brake pedal 6 times.
-Within 10 seconds, remove the working pre-programmed key from the ignition.
-Within 10 seconds, insert the newly cut transponder key into the ignition.
-Depress and release the accelerator pedal one time. The security light should now begin flashing to indicate that the computer is reading the new key and programming the system.
-Leave the new key in the ignition for at least 60 seconds. When the security light stops flashing, the programming process should be complete
-Start the vehicle using the new key to verify that programming was successful.

THanks for the reply. My real question is what does it mean on the last step where you have to wait 60 second for the new key to program when the lights doesn't stop blinking? I left it there for atleast 5 minutes and it never stop blinking.

Then you probably did the procedure wrong, it should stop blinking once the key is programmed.

Or the only key which u are trying to use is a valet key. in that case the procedure is useless cos u need a master key to program another key.

Here the thing. I just bought the car and the guy only gave me one key. It has the remote to unlock and lock the doors and open the trunk. I am not sure if this is a vallet key because this car do not have any key hole to unlock the door with a key. On the manual, the vallet key doesn't look anything like the master key. Doesn't have any remote lock and unlock. But I am just concern if the car never came with that kind of key because the vallet cannot open the door without the remote key. Can someone tell me this is not the only gs400 that has no key holes for the doors.

Because it was such a great deal. 68k Miles for $10k only serviced that it really needed was balljoints. The paint is kinda eeek. Some overspray on it. So a little bit of wet sanding and buffing and painted the bumbers. So I haven't posted any pictures because I feel like I'm under class right now.

Anyways, all the doors you cannot use a key on, but the trunk and glove compartment you can! So I'm pretty sure I am using the master key.

TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING

NOTE: The remote keyless entry system is equipped with 2
transmitters, having 2 unique vehicle access codes programmed
into the wireless door lock ECU.

MODES OF REGISTRATION (PROGRAMMING the Remote)

There are 4 registration modes:

Add Mode
Adds a transmitter (remote) without erasing existing transmitter
codes. Four transmitter codes can be registered at one time. If number
of registered codes exceeds 4, previously registered codes are erased
in order, starting with first registered code.

Rewrite Mode
Erases all previousLy registered transmitter codes and
reprogram new transmitters.

Confirmation Mode
Informs user of number of existing transmitter codes already
programmed in system.

Prohibition Mode
Erases all existing registered transmitter codes and cancels
wireless door lock operation. Use this function if transmitter is lost
or stolen.

REGISTRATION OF RECOGNITION CODE

1) To begin programming, remove key from ignition switch.
Ensure driver’s door is open and unlocked, and all other doors are
closed. Insert key into ignition switch, and then remove it.

2) Complete the following in 40 seconds or less: press door
lock switch (the one that controls all the locks) to LOCK position,
and then within one second, press door
lock switch to UNLOCK position. Repeat procedure continuously until
door locks have been locked and unlocked 5 times. Close, and then open
driver’s door.

3) Complete the following in 40 seconds or less: repeat
procedure in step 2), except for closing and opening driver’s door.

Insert key into ignition switch. To enter desired mode, turn ignition
switch to ON position and back to LOCK position (one cycle), within
one second, the specified number of times. See REGISTRATION MODE
SELECTION table below. Remove key from ignition switch. Registration
of confirmation code is complete after door locks cycle. Be sure to
continue as below.

REGISTRATION MODE SELECTION

Mode - - - No. Of Ignition Switch Cycles
Add = 1
Rewrite = 2
Confirmation = 3
Prohibition = 5

4) If any mode, other than confirmation mode is selected, go
to next step. If confirmation mode was selected, door locks will cycle
0-4 times depending on how many transmitter codes are stored in ECU.
Example: two stored codes equals 2 door lock/unlock cycles.

5) Complete the following in 40 seconds or less: if add mode,
rewrite mode or prohibition mode is selected, to confirm proper
initiation, door locks will automatically cycle one time for add mode
(at the end of step 3),
2 times for rewritemode and 5 times for prohibition mode. Press
transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for at least 1.5
seconds, and then within 3 seconds, press any transmitter button for
at least one second.

6) If within 3 seconds, door locks cycle one time, new
transmitter code has been successfully accepted. Go to next step. If
door locks cycle 2 times, new transmitter code was not accepted. To
program an additional transmitter or to make a second attempt, return
to step 5) within 40 seconds.

7) Registration of recognition codes is complete under any of
the following conditions:

* Forty seconds has elapsed since wireless door lock ECU has
responded.
* Driver’s door is closed.
* Key is inserted into ignition key cylinder.
* Four recognition codes are registered at one time.
