Might be an old or loose wires/connector on the throttle sensor. If it's really an emergency situation, just floor the pedal to the ground. The cable still has a mechanical linkage that catches at the last 80% of the pedal. So basically if you're in a situation where the throttle sensor cuts out...just floor it all the way down and it will be equivalent to about 20% throttle when the sensor is working properly. It happend to me one time when I forgot to plug in the pedal sensor in after working on my engine. I was wondering why my car wouldnt move untill I floored it lol.
I had the same issues for a long time, and the only fix I had was to either turn the car off and wait a little bit, or disconnect the battery to reset the ecu. Then I read about the TPS sensors and sure enough I had that code when I was finally able to pull the codes.
I read on here that cleaning the throttle body helped someone resolve the issue, so I did just that...cleaned it out really good since it was all gunked up and stuff. Its been almost 2 months, and I havent had any problems (and I used to get the "engine light gas pedal not responding" thing almost every week!).
Did you try what I said? Floor the gas all the way to the ground to see if the car will start moving.
Hi Jeff
The thing is, its running fine now with no engine light and no dying when i tested it in the neighborhood. I have a daily driver so i dont take this car out much. Glad i have the dd for problems like this

Yeah, that's probably the most inexpensive fix to try first The throttle body cleaner was only a few dollars, and I just took my time cleaning it out with a toothbrush and old microfiber towel. I was actually shocked at how dirty it was, but has made a world of difference. Its been a relief too that it worked since i used to get stuck a lot with engine light issues and the pedal not responding...literally once a week
If the issues comes back though for me down the line, then I will try the other remedies mentioned in this thread. Good luck
Upon following directions on cleaning the TB, i found that something was broken!
This..
(look at the upper left finger pointing)
So could this be the problem of my car stalling out randomly? It is just broken off, its not able to be put back on i can see that whatever it is that let the hose over it is broken.
What exactly do these vacumm hoses do?
And should i just get a new aftermaret intake or get an oem part? lol i dont even know what this would be called! The broken looking hole is what im talking about. Theres no way for the hose to reconnect to that
