Rear (trunk deck) speaker removal?
I have a '98 GS300. Today I heard a high pitched squealing coming from the 10" speaker mounted in the trunk deck. Apparently one of the wires got shorted to the speaker basket. The voice coil got pretty hot, and now there's no sound from it.
I'm assuming the speaker is blown, or if there's a crossover mounted somewhere for it, that's toasted. Problem is, I can't figure out how to get the speaker grille off. I tried popping the plastic tabs through under the deck, but it doesn't want to pop up very easily.
Has anyone taken this out? I don't want to break anything. Any help to point me in the right direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. That's definitely the info I was looking for. I had a deep lurking feeling it would be involved.
Oh well. Hey...would you (or anyone) happen to know offhand if there's a crossover in there somewhere? I noticed the speaker is offset in the grille, which leads me to believe something else is in there.
The speaker is actually measuring fine, at around 2 ohms. So I think the voicecoil may actually be ok. I'm wondering if there's a crossover in there, and the cap is just blown.
Thanks again.
