Cd player has a short somewhere... losses sound when you hit a bump and rear speakers will not work although
you can turn the fade to the rear and hear some bass from the sub(center) Does anyone have a wiring diagram? Dealer wants $100 just to look at it. Is it an AMP problem? HELP

The problem is the most likely the rear speakers. It seems to be a common problem with these cars. To check, simply open up the trunk and remove the panel in the front of the trunk so you can access the bottom of the rear deck. Then touch the wires from a spreker you know to be good to the leads of each rear deck speaker.
What typically destroys a speaker is overheating the voice coil, it burns out and loses continuity and ceases to work. This is speeded along by the extra heat that trunks and rear decks experience. You probally won't hear about someone blowing their speaker on a cold January morning. (I bought my car from an owner who was living in Miami and it had this problem.)
If it is the speakers, you will have to remove the back seats to get them out. This is easy and takes only a few minutes. The bottom cushion snaps out by lifting up. The rear cushion is held in place by 3 or 4 13 mm
bolts that you will see as soon as you snap out the bottom. The deck cover has snap downs along the front and the sub-woofer cover snaps down. (pop off the sub cover first) Some people recommend removing the side pannels but I didn't. Being carfull while slightly bending by lifting it in the middle, work out the deck cover.
The rear spekers are 4 inch speakers in a 6 or 6.5 inch enclosure adapter. ( the hole in the deck is 6 or 6.5 inches) once out of the car, I was careful and removed the screen on the enclosure exposing the screws holding in the 4 inch speaker in the enclosure.
I suppose you could replace the speaker with either size speaker but I chose to put a 4" back in since I am not a sound engineer and dont know about the cross- overs and what frequencys should be carried by these speakers. I can tell you that I put in Rockford Fosgate 4" Punch speakers from Best-Buy for about $70 for the pair and they fit perfectly into the enclosure like they were made for it. Many speakers I looked at would not fit or line up because of the mounting hole diameter or the size af the speaker frame. Anyway the Rockford 4" went in just perfect.
The sound is great, although to be fair, I am comparing it to when it was missing the speakers. I think it could use some more mid-bass which the 4 inchers aren't capable of. All in all, for 70 bucks out the door, it was well worth it.

For what it's worth... I have a 95 SC400, and when I bought it the rear speakers weren't working. I could hear thumping base from the sub... but no rear sound. If I turned the fader to the front, it worked fine.
I thought the AMP might be the culprit (since that's what everyone seems to need to replace.) But - it was suggested to try the rear speakers. I found instructions online for $4.99 (www.carstereoremoval.com) which were perfect. Turned out my 4" rear speakers were shot... and a $60 replacement set of PIONEERS from Best Buy did the trick!!
Hope this helps someone else.
