Default Radio Light

The light on my radio went out, the one the illuminates the radio station. Can that be replaced or do I need to buy a new radio.

I just bought my GS about two weeks ago and my radio light just went out as well. I'd to know if its an easy fix too....maybe its just a sign to replace the factory unit and begin modding.

Go aftermarket, but only if you really care about loudness and sound clarity.

If not, the LEDs behind the display are replaceable, but I've heard that you should really make sure you know what you're doing so that you don't fry anything. If you do change it, you can even change the color that the buttons and the display light up.

Here is a DIY right here.

Okay, sorry about that. There is no actual DIY in that link, but I'm sure Rockero wouldn't mind if you PM'd him about it.

you can take the headunit apart. people sell replacement displays on ebay, and swapping out the display is a simple plug n play job once you have taken the headunit apart. if you're good with soldering, just take the old display out and replace the lightbulbs by de-solder and re-solder.

If you want to keep the OEM radio, you can replace the all the bulbs in the radio. Just so you know the OEM bulb is 10mm wide X 12 high, you can find a couple of site that sell the replacement bulbs, you can even go LED if you want.

I'm MODing my OEM radio for the time just so oI can get rid of the GREEENN OEM color
