Default Jack Stand point -

Newbie questions...

Where do you all put your jack stand? The place that owner manual mention looks pretty soft to me. Do you use the inside frame or outside part?


98 GS400.

I use the inside frame rail for the front with my floor jack on the front cross member as shown in the manual. That is if the "outside part" is where you put the jack from the trunk. The rear diff would work for the back. Someone posted pics where the rear frame rail was crushed using a floor jack. I don't know if that was due to improper use or not so I never used it yet.

Check out the side lift jack pads ! I use these vs. an inner support rail. If your lift pad on your floor jack is too small it could cave in the supprt
