Default what in the world is this? Please help

Greetings,

I own a 98 gs 300, and i am hearing a clunkin light noise coming from the rear of the vehiacle as i let go of the gas, and suddenly im coasting with my foot on the gas he noise goes away. I only hear the noise when i let go of the gas, I thought it was something in the suspension(20's, springs) but everything turned out good, Local Les schwab says it could be the pumpkin, rear differental which i highly doubt. i have all service records from day one on this car and all it sees it the lexus dealer, even oil changes. So what could it be? your guy's help help is deeply appreciated, cheers. i currently have 115k miles.

I had a similar problem once. my spare was not secured tight enough and would clunk with sudden accel or brake.

it could also be your motor mounts, trans mount or the rubber bushings on rear diff.

Its a noise that sounds like something is getting dragged, kind of like bad brake pads(roar noise), all pads/rotors are only 2 months old and everything checked fine as far as brakes go
