Smile Another GS400 price thread :)

I thought about getting LS400, but I decided that I like sportier drive of my Legend.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=275590

But, I am drooling all over GS 400. I found a seller who might let go for 98 GS400 for about $11K or so with 140K+ miles on it. Let me know if I should jump on it or not. Mileage is a little bit higher than I wanted. I have never driven GS 400, but I have driven GS 300. Are they day and night different from 300 to 400?

Thanks in advance....

Yes, the speed of the 400 is addicting, the 300 is okay and your gas mileage will be the same

140k on a Lexus is a new car. Thats about 15-18k a year for that car, not bad at all.
Make sure it got oil changes and the belts replaced. Good deal, IMO.

A bit high. I would say 9-10k for a GS400 that year tops with that mileage. They are great cars but are getting a bit old as well so expect some maintenance which should be factored in.

You might do a little better in price like these guys are saying. I would sell my GS with 134K L-tuned, all maint done, with 2 sets rims/tires. for under 14K

Keep looking the price is going down..just like the 22" LCD monitors for my computer.

if you can afford 14k go with something newer with less miles.

Really? Where can I find $10K GS400? I have looked through CL, cars.com, autotrader. Maybe, I am not looking at the right place.

My guess is that the $10K and under cars are a bit scruffy... of course, you're talking about nine year-old cars here. I bought my 2000 in 2003 and I paid a fair price because I wanted a clean car in a very rare color combination. I could have saved a few grand, but most of the cheaper cars had been wrecked, poorly repainted, or had other skeletons.

People's perception of a "clean" car varies greatly. I looked at cars that people told me "none cleaner!" that I thought were total roaches... dirty seats, filthy engines, undercarriages that looked as if they had just been in the Baja 500... You get what you pay for (if you're lucky).

It's true, my car was a mess when I got it. I spent weeks cleaning the interior until it looked new again. Luckily the paint was still pretty good.

I got my GS400 a week ago with 120k miles for 11k.

2 owner (2nd owner owned it since 1999), all service done by Lexus with reciepts, 2 sets of 17"s with tires, full option (minus nav), black paint looks beautiful, interior still feels brand new, and etc.

if you have time, do not rush. I looked for mine for well over a month; and I was in Tokyo looking for a GS in the States .

Might want to check into Geography 101 lol, most of the east coast doesn't need to use salt either

I'd want it local too personally, but you can do better on price than what you posted, even in CA. Just keep looking. Even post a WTB with your price in the vehicle classifieds here.
