Default 295/30/19's Wide Enough?

Hey guys, I am a 2000 Gs400 owner, Just curious about some tire sizes..
I don't know if this is the right area to post..

Currently have 275/30/19's and 245/35/19's in the fronts,

Going with 295/30/19's back Conti's or perilli's and 255/35/19's front

rim is 19x9.5 42-43 offset front 19x8.5 38 offset,
i know the tires will fit no problem, but will it rub? i am not lowered

I know some1 here is running 305/25/20's Conti Sport 2's so that means my setup should work right?

just trying 2 double check b4 i buy em because its consting me a pretty penny or 2

thanx,

Welcome to Clublexus. Please search, this has been discussed many times. At a rear 295, you will have to roll the fenders some to make it fit and not rub.

Hey thanx for the quick reply,

here is the tire size i found on tire calculator

Tire Size Comparison

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile diff/
275/30-19 3.2in 12.7in 25.5in 80.1in 791 0.0%
285/30-19 3.4in 12.9in 25.7in 80.8in 784 -1.0%
295/30-19 3.5in 13.0in 26.0in 81.6in 777 1.9%

as u can see there is so little difference... so the tire comes 0.5 inch up, that shouldn't rub.. and lets say 0.5'' on each side

can the guru's shine on this? I AM NOT LOWERED,

295/30/19 will rub , i know for i used to have it and i had to trim the rear lip down to almost nothing

but moreover 295/30 will look horrid on a 9.5in wide rim.. i had them on 10.5 in and it still bubbled over

go with 285/30 you will be happier trust me and btw i now am going 295/25/20 and they are only 1/2 wider then my 285/30/19 and i am running 20x11

I agree with the 285's. I have 275 on 10" wide and it looks stretched. Will go with 285's next.

Thanx for the reply Lexforlife,

wow, this is totally what i didn't expect...

i for sure thought it would fit,

so what do i have to do to make it fit? TRim fender? bang it? my rear offset is 38 and fronts 35..

i don't care how the tire looks on the rim...but i know what u saying,

The thing is, i am getting a really good deal on the tires at that size, compared to what they go for almost half price.. so thats why..

it will cost me more money to go 285's in the back and also i have to stick with 245/35s in the front

If u don't mind me asking, how much did it rub? really really bad?
or just on bumps, certain turns .... etc??

it won't rub on the inner side right? agaist the shocks??

just the other part will rub against the fender trim?

bro do you want sound avice

dont do it , it will rub like crazy , you have to almost eliminate the lip on the rear , 2 the rim size for a 295 tire min needs to be 10in but ideal is 10.5-11in . 9.5 will look like a dragster on the track , horrid.. not to mention it will kill any handling of the car , the tire will roll over the rim badly and cause a tremdous amount of understeer , not what you want in the rear of the gs
