Default EVAP Sensor Code:

My check engine light came on recently and i checked the code and it's the EVAP sensor code. i did a search here that said usually it's just the gas cap isn't on tight enough. Well i filled up cleared the code and it popped back up again. Anybody have any other idea what it could be? i couldn't find a clear answer as to what else it could be? I have a trip planned that i have to drive my car 8 hours for. Is this serious that i need to get it fixed before i go, or could i wait till i get back to get it fixed? thanks in advance for any advice.

Depending on which EVAP code it is. Evap codes can still come up if your gas cap doesn't seal properly, wherever you checked your codes, if they do smogs as well, they have a gas cap check, you might want to do that since gas caps can go bad...
