once in a while car manufacturers have think tanks full of drunkies (in companies like Pontiac, there are ALWAYS tanks full of drunkies.)

Once in a while car manufacturers run out of ideas (like Hyundai) and start to make copies and wannabes.

Hence the new Altima.

Well, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. When the current generation GS came out, it was pretty much ridiculed for its "radical" styling. It turns out Lexus was ahead of the game, because so many cars share design cues from it now.

i agree with Iceman (the iceman never makes mistakes - top gun) esspecially since Iceman doesn't have a GS and is willing to say that... definatly give you props man because i agree with you but not many people would admit it!

I totally concur with everyone's posts on this thread so far (sounds a little "Quayle-like", huh?).

That is one for sure! Evertytime I see a Metro I have to look for a while to see that it is NOT a corolla. Acutally I think it is the Corolla and the Chevrolet Prism that I am thinking look so similar. The prism (red car and interior picture) looks like a toyota on the inside too.

Why do the Metro and the Corolla look the same? Because they ARE the same! I think GM has a partnership with Toyota and the Corolla and the Metro are the exact same car, just with different trim and brand names. Maybe it's the Prism that is the same as the Corolla, I'm not sure. But I know that one of the two are the same as the Corolla...

And this one makes me mad: Lots of people think that the GS is based on the Avalon because they look similar in size and have the same "stance". if you will. The only thing they have in common is that they are made by Toyota!!!

The "Landcrusher" and the LX are the exact same thing, just different trim and brand.

Sorry, I don't think the 4Runner looks anything like the Explorer.

It really goes Geo prism=Toyota corolla.........+ Acura Tl X Nissan Maxima divided by 540i = Lexus GS. Then again it might not even I suck at long division

everyone takes ideas, the altima definitely took design cues from the GS, but Lex has done it also...ES300 with the Peugot, SC430 influenced by the Audi TT, LS400 took design cues from the S500.

Hmmm...I don't think so. The Acura and the Maxima are lesser cars and even when multiplied together are not better than the 540i. So that would mean that you are dividing a small numerator (Acura and Maxima) by a large denominator (540i). That would be like diving 20 by 2,345,679 or something. I don't think it would equal the GS by a long shot. Sorry, I know this post is dumb, but I figured, "What the hey..."

Well gotta say that the Altima is that bad of a car.. A friend of mine just picked one up through his company leasing program and we took it out the other night.. For the money it is a VERY good car.. Honestly i'm not a huge Nissan fan but this Altima shouldn't be knocked until you sit and drive it.. Just my 2 cents..

Equation:

540i add one interior designer with quality leather in hand and that equals a GS430 with a remainder of $2000 USD in hand to do your suspension mod..
