Question Please help me to fix minor problems (warranty issues)

My 98 GS 300 has almost 50K. I would like to fix all this little annoyances before factory warranty expires. Please review my list and let me know if you ever had those problems. Have you been able to fix them? Lexus dealer acts like "it should work as it is" or "we could not hear/see the problem". I need some information to convince the dealer. Don't get me wrong. I do love me GS300, just want to fix all those little things. Thanks to everybody!

1. Previously Not fixed: Opened Sunroof makes clicking (possibly censor) sound while going over uneven surface: driveways, bumps, road cracks. (Now I have the fax "how it should be fixed by Lexus")
2. Roof cover on the back of the car makes "shaking loose" noise while driving.
3. Passenger front seat is shaking while driving.
4. Front passenger?s Seatbelts are not retracting back by themselves (too loose), I need to pull them several times to retract.
5. Driver?s window vibrates while driving on freeway. When window is closed the wind noise can be heard from the left upper corner. Sounds like that corner is not isolated, when covered with finger, noise disappears.
6. HID lights are shaking while driving on bumpy freeway.
7. HID are not as bright as on new Lexus cars (???)Did my bulbs aged? Covered under warranty?

Please tell me which once should be fixed under warranty and which once are not covered.

I think what you need to do is make an appointment with the dealership, print out the list you just posted, and tell them to fix everything on that list. It seems that everything that you listed should be covered under warranty.

I'll take a stab at responding to question # 3, 5, and 6. These all sound related to a having a vibration problem with your car. You might need to have your tires balanced using the Hunter 9700 balancer or you may need to have the dealer perform the Technical Service Bulletin: ST003R-98 JUN 98 Steering Vibration/Flutter. I have a problem with my 98 GS400 passenger seat vibrating also but its because the steering wheel and the rest of the car shake at speed. I've read on this web site that using the road force variance Hunter balancer can solve this problem but it might need to have the TSB performed. I've tryed the balancing but it did not work. Now I'm trying to have the dealer perform the TSB to see if that works though.

Has anyone else had the ST003R-98 JUN 98 Steering Vibration/Flutter service bulletin performed on their car? What does it entail (replace steering rack?) and did it solve the problem?

good luck,
Red

Thanks a lot for your help? Do you know of any service bulletins for listed items. Where can I see them?
