Talking Finally!!!

O.K. O.K.! After questioning the sh** out of everyone on "The Best Tire Application" for my setup, I have finally placed my order, and should have everything bolted up next week!!! One HUGE concern of mine was the fact that rims are so sucseptible to "curb-side" hits and scrapes, even though it looks sweet as hell when low-profile tires and rims are just about even looking at em' from the side or any angle for that matter! So since I have ran both a 245/40/18 and a 245/45/17 up front with no problems, just the opposite actually! One day I kissed the sh** out of a curb and I was about to sh** a brick! when I got out to inspect the damage all I hit was tire! I was happy as Gilmore! This is my final setup: *TOYO PROXES T1-S* 245/35/19 w/ 19x8 up front & 265/30/19 w/ 19x9 out back! Custom Chromed Moda R-6. Bling! Bling!

Talking Ahhhhhhhhhh! The Tire Saga..........

Well GSnav, if you have been peeping out some of my recent posts, you know I have been "Jonseing" for some tires for sometime now! I actually, once again, had to seek out the "hook-up"! I am happy to say however that out of all my painstaking searching the web (we're talking over 40 web hours here people!)
that I came across a guy who had the best damn pricing short of wholesale (which I got hehehe ) I'll PM you the info.

Good job TX - I have been contemplating those as well - the chrome will be a nice touch also IMO.

Thanks Dex! With Sooooooooooooooooo many rims to choose from, with such a staggering price range! After looking at obviously all our fellow members rims & setups and countless others, I decided that my next wheel upgrade meet a few criteria:
1. First & foremost, I positively decided that the wheel needed to be potentially interchangeable! Meaning should Lexus make"SIGNIFICANT" changes to the upcoming GS, I feel the R6 will compliment it nicely as well. And Lexus is excellent at keeping their bolt pattern & offsets the same. 2. I've always liked the factory 17' chrome on the GS (One of if not the best factory wheels available) 3. Price!!! Without question the value and overall style per dollar for this wheel is in my opinion unmatched! And as you know I am having them chromed, just to keep the "TXSTYLE Uniqueness" factor going. I'm very anxious and will definitely post some pics! Thanks for all the support!

TXSTYLE - congrats, hope it all works out. Do you know what offsets your wheels are, and did you have a choice, and how do you know if they're about right?

Also, I'll be interested to hear if you have any issues balancing the wheels - are they hub centric or are you getting centering rings or neither?

Just went on tirerack, and it doesn't let me select the 8's up front and 9's in rear in the 19" rim size. (It does in 18") Any idea why?

Finally, if you're planning on chroming the wheels after delivery, then that will knock the balance way off I'd expect, so note you'll need them balanced again probably.

Very good points Bitk. Let me address them: I too noticed that "online" you're not given the opportunity to go with a staggered setup! But, seeing that they are available in 8 & 9 in., I was sure staggering was possible. Which indeed was confirmed when I called. Now Even more interesting was I'm sure you noticed that one of the 19's were on special! It turns out that particular size was a 19x9 w/ a 47mm offset and they only had a few of those left, since it's going on the rear, that size was not a problem! The front on the other hand is a different story. I forgot to mention in my previous post that another important factor in me going w/ these wheels, is that the front came in two different offsets (as well as the rears) my choice, 35mm which will accomodate my big brake upgrade! I was totally extactic when I found this out. It is my understanding the R6's are not completely "hub-centric" as most aftermarket wheels are not. But they came w/ all neccessary hub-rings & bolts for a perfect fit! And lastly, I have my tires already which I didn't order from the Rack so they will be balanced in my presence at my shop. I don't wan't no f***ups!

TX, thanks for the info, seems like you did great homework.

Please let us know how the install/balance goes. You might even consider an alignment too.

Talking Meaty!!!!!!!

Well you guys, I am totally Jonseing now that my "Meaty" Toyo Proxes T1-S's arrived this morning! They are PHATT!!! And I know they are going to stick like super glue! This was my first time actually seeing them in person. For all the fancy cars here in Dallas/Plano, everyone has either Michellin, Dunlop, or Nitto! That's going to make the " " factor even Better! I got word yesterday that the chroming process was finished yesterday and they will be shipped this evening! The count down to delivery begins...................
