so i was just driving down a major highway and all of a sudden i hear "thud-thud-thud-thud" sound coming from the front as if i have a flat, so i pull over, and no flats then i get back in my car put my seat belt on and prepare to drive away and "clunk-clunk-clunk" i have NO clue what this is. i get out 4-5 times and check underneath the car and drive a few feet each time. the steering wheel is now also shaking now OBVIOUSLY you cant really diagnose my problem from this description, but any idea

Let's hope something's not actually broken, but here's a guess. Is something wrapped around the disc brake area?

Another off the wall guess, bad tire with a blown sidewall. Have you dropped it into a pothole or ran over something recently?

Immediately check that the wheels are properly torqued down! A wheel not properly torqued down will create this kind of sound.

This happened to me too, but the clunking noise only happens when I'm turning. When I looked under my car, my sway bar was lose. You have 3 bolts that hold your sway bar. I had 2 loose and the 3rd fell off. You'd probably want to check your swaybars too.

Did you just look at the tires or did you check the pressures with a gauge? Some of the low profile tires have side walls stiff enough to not visually notice that there is a flat? This has happened to me before. I didn't realize I had a flat until I took out the tire gauge.

If the tire pressures aren't the problem, do you have a dead body in the trunk?

Luckily you caught it, and you didn't snap any bolts or have a wheel come off while driving.

Checking that the wheels are properly torqued down is the first thing to check whenever you hear something like this. Glad that you're still with us!

It's not uncommon for a shop to be careless and not properly torque down the wheels. Don't forget to recheck the torque after a few days.
