Default Burnout

I finally did my first real burnout today. Maybe it was also due to the fact that the ground was wet from the rain but nonetheless. I was at a stoplight coming back from B.K. with my gf in the car. I said let me try to do it, maybe impress her a little. I did it the first time but didn't hold the brake down enough. So I put more pressure on the brake pedal and hit the gas for like 5 seconds. I don't how many rpm's I got it up to but I'm sure I didn't redline it. Then a couple of seconds after I stopped I see the smoke in my rearview mirror. I was like a little kid, my gf was omg shutup. She didn't even know what I had just done.

Other than wasting your rubber, what can doing burnouts damage?

Depends on how often and what rpm's your holding at. Any type of hard driving will put add'l wear and tear on the brakes, tranny, rear diff, etc...
I remember one time my friend took his mother's car and put it in "N", hit the gas and then slamed it in "D" and then there was this loud "BANG". The car just sat there with the engine reving
