Default Help Connecting Spoiler

I've looked at BananaGS' website but it's still not helping me. I bought the car used with the spoiler but it's never worked so I figured I'd check into it today. Tell me whats wrong with this picture. Both red/black wires come from the spoiler. No idea where yellow/green and white/black come from. That plug isn't connected to anything. It just hangs there

http://lexusmodz.netfirms.com/GS_DIY/spoiler

In figure 10 he shows two plugs.. I only have the one that holds the yellow/green white/black wires. And what is that red plastic thing around the white/black and yellow/green wires?

The plug I have doesn't come from the spoiler. I have my Red connected to the yellow/green and my red/black connected to the white/black. Just like it says

Do you think maybe the led bar needs to be replaced? The previous owner is no help because... he can't remember if it ever worked or not

I would start by getting a light tester or a voltmeter to test and see which of the wires are hot. Then I would go from there to see if you are connecting the right wires.

The picture is too small to see what the red thing is. Look like some type of connector.

Just wire the spoiler's wire in parallel and you should be good. The lights on the spoilers (if OEM) are LED so they aren't taking a lot of current. No need for relays here.

well guys not too good. I was using a light tester so I needed to hold the brake light down to provide the juice. I used a 10lb weight to hold the brake pedal down. I guess trying to get the weight situated and pumping the brake too much wasnt a great idea, because now my car is stuck in park. I can only move the shifter about a millimeter. I should just take it somewhere. I always screw up the DIY

OK, did u try putting something in the shifter lock hole and moving it that way? Did you blow a fuse or anything??

I dont think it's a fuse... if it is though.. should i check under the kick panels or under the hood... let me try the shift lock... how does that thing work anyway?

Yeah,

You are going to need to check all your fuses as there is something stopping you from moving it. I would check both but start at the kick panel.

You just need to insert something into the lock to disengage it. Like a flat head screwdriver for instance.

Thanks!! It was the shift lock dont know why it took me so long to think of that one... now ive got a worse problem that i think pertains to the warning lights... After I got it into drive, i took it for a spin testing the brakes... Every single time I start slowing down... as soon as im almost stopped.. i get a thump and a jarring sensation out of the back of the car. Its like going over a pothole at like 5 mph
