Default GS400 Check engine light

Hello, I have a 2000 GS400 with 68K miles, Runs great - love it...
I ran out of gas yesterday trying to get to the next exit and when I did get some gas and started it up the check engine light came on. Car runs like it always has but the light is on - guessing nothing serious but wanted to check. Thanks.!

The loose gas cap could be the problem. Remove your gas cap and re-tighten it back in (3-4 clicks should do).

Thanks. Tried that and it is on tight. Wondering if when I ried to re-start when out of gas it caused vapor/air problem with sensor causing CE light to come on.

Thats typical when you go to the last drop on the gs gas tanks. Remove the + cable and reset the ECU. And I really dount a loose gas cap will cause a cel in our cars since one time I left mine at the gas station and only realised it when I got home and still didn't have a CEL. PS if you check the manual it even says it in there that you shouldnt let the gas tank go empty.

I will unfasten the +. Thanks. Yep. felt pretty stupid as I was standing along side the interstate for my first in a lifetime "out of gas" experience. ...I thought I could make it.....
