Hello Everyone,

I'm proud to announce that I have just purchased a 1998 GS400 and couldn't be happier. Well actually that's a lie, I would be happier with the steering ECU, the L-Tuned suspension, 17 inch wheels, and a strut tower but those goodies will have to wait until spring. My model has every option (including navigation) except it has 16 inch chrome wheels. Frankly, not a big fan of those. Silver with black leather.

I got it from a small speed shop here in Chicago which specializes in Supras. They picked it up at action from Lexus Financing last month. This car has 75k miles on it (prior owner lived way out in the western suburbs of Chicago) which is a lot of highway drving in 3 years. I had the car checked out by a Lexus dealer and it got the thumbs up. I picked the car up for $25,750. The service manager thought that was a great price given the condition of the car and the options.

I sure hope that Lexus reliability is as good as everyone says. I'm coming from the Mercedes world and was tired of paying hundreds of dollars a month to keep my Benz running! Now I have to figure out how the darn navigation system works! The booklet is the one piece that is missing and I have it on order from a dealer. If anyone has any tips please let me know. Thanks!

M,

welcome. that is a very good price consider the options you have. benz has some nice cars too, but as you said, service and parts cost quite a bit. lex gs, imo, is the best all around car fro comfort, performance and reliability.

Today I cruised all over Northern Illinois with a friend of mine. The navigation system on the GS400 is fantastic. We wanted to take a nice leisurely cruise so we chose a route without highways. 5 seconds later we had a route and just followed the voice. The car has been a dream.

The GS is an awesome automobile which will no doubt keep you smiling for years to come

You guys will definitely not regret your purchase.

Cruise around in them for awhile, break them in nicely (if applicable), enjoy the luxury, then get started on the mods!

You got it. They're a nice bunch of guys...unless I find a huge flaw in the GS400! In fact I might be able to move a couple more of their cars for them. Those Supras they have are scary fast!

I am looking for a used Supra in good clean condition...can you send me e-mail as to the details of the cars? Thanks.
