Default Which gauges should I get?

Guys,

Looking at getting a couple of gauges - a boost gauge and one other ( not sure yet.)

I have the AEM Uego wideband gauge (52mm) and want 2 more to make the pod. I think 3 looks perfect.

I was going to go with the Defi gauges but they are just sooo expensive, and then to daisy chain with the controller is another $100+. That's $600+.

I am trying to find some good quality gauges without spending $250+ per gauge. Any suggestions??

Jonny

After WB and boost... an in car fuel pressure guage is a must, followed by an oil pressure guage.

The new Blitz guages and Defi BL guages are really nice. Autometer makes a nice set of Nexus guages. You've already spent a ton of $$$ on your car. What's another $$$.

Exactly!

I would go with the Blitz or the Defi gauges.

LOL - true, but I am trying to curb my spending a little and find something a little more reasonably priced

Believe me, I know what your talking about. There are certain guages that you probably don't need (boost, egt) or can get away without since you're supercharged. You could use a turbo timer that doubles as a boost guage if you want to monitor boost readings. You already have a wideband, so maybe you could get away with not having a egt. I would say get a oil pressure or oil temp. Either one is for precaution. Look at autometer guages if price is an issue or maybe check out the SC classifieds or supraforums since there are more FI cars.

Fuel Pressure guage is a must.
Oil Pressure is a close second.

I recommend some Defi guages, The playback option along with peak hold are awesome features.

You can go with a variety of Autometer gauges inexpensively that will do the job.......if you wanted to spend some cash I would either go with the Blitz DC gauges (which are beautiful gauges), or with the Defi. I went with the Defi ones myself, its just easier to daisy chain them with the controller when running mulitple gauges. The DC gauges uses a controller too, but you can only run 3 gauges per controller....with the Defi, you can run 7.

I have boost, EGT, feul pressure, oil pressure, and tranny temp gauges going into my car.....all of which I feel are necessary to have when running FI......ecspecially the pressure gauges.

Why would you put a turbo timer on a supercharged car? I didn't think SCs use oil feeds or had to worry about heat soaking. No?

Anyway, the Defi gauges look incredible. Wish I could afford them. But I'm content with Autometers in my other car. They have a ton of different looks that you can match up to your own gauges. Autometer also has a datalogging option to some of their electronic gauges if you ever decide to go that route. But that's not at all cheap.

The RMM kit is oil fed. I think some units are self contained. I used the turbo timer/boost guage because I didn't want to put a regular guage in the car, and the blitz unit is small enough to hid away.

Interesting to note. Did not realize that. Thanks.

Can't go wrong with the Auto Meter gauges. They offer many different styles and LED colors.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I will look at the Autometer gauges and see how they look. I would like to try and get it to flow with the wideband gauge.

I would love to get the Defi gauges but I think I can do without them for right now Unless I can get lucky and find a good cheap used set

Thanks again,
Jonny

Just keep looking in the different classifieds. They're bound to show up sooner or later. I would rather wait and buy something used that I really want, than settle for something that I can afford now. I think the Defi BL series guages are

Dakota digital gauges are real popular up here installed in custom rods. What I don't like about them is that they are blank when the ignition is off, just this black space sitting there. Look pretty cool when turned on, mostly becuase they are new and unique for Alaska. A good old needle gauge gives you something to look at, even when it's not on.
