01+ Tail Lights Question

Default 01+ Tail Lights Question

I have a opportunity to get some 01+ Tail lights from a CL member but he needs his harness to adapt to his JP tails.. ... I can get a good deal on these but where do i Just buy the harness? Does Carson sell this? Thanks

Yes, you can get it from Carson or even your local Lexus dealer for about 40 bucks...

Won't your old 98-00 harness work on 01+ tail lights? They look kind of the same. I haven't replaced my tail lights yet, will be doing it this weekend...so, I guess I'll find out

Well from what I've read you need the 01+ harness to adapt to the 99 GS... If its a new light in the 01+ then the wires are different i assume... I'm pretty sure about this...

The bulbs all fit with the exception of the reverse bulb on the old harness! You would need to upgrade to the new harness! The reverse bulb on the new harness is smaller! You can buy the new bulb from any autoparts store (pep boy's,Napa,ADV.discount,etc.)! -wringo

SO your saying just buy the bulb or you still need the harness..

no, you need new harness. the reverse bulb is different and you need the new "base"

I remember some members re-using the old harness. They had to cut and splice though; definitely not plug and play.

The new harness is the cleanest way.
