Junction Produce caps
As many of you know , the Junction Produce aerokit has one small flaw , the rear doorcap rubs against the front one when opening the rear door (half way open) . i was just wondering if sanding the rear caps , would it help to get rid of the rubbing ? if not , any other way to get rid of it ?
Thank you

I'm no expert on the jp kits but from what I read its just something your going to have to deal with to get an even flowed door cap. In this I mean that if you look at any car with door caps they usually have an indentation on the rear door cap to leave room for the front door to open without the front door cap rubbing on the rear, perfect example is the ford expedition eddie bauer, I know cuz my brother owns one and I noticed it. If you look at the kit JTanoyo did for his GS it also had a smal indentation in the rear door cap for the front to open normally. What JP did from what I can see is make a sacrifice in the design's functionality for it to look more even with no indentation. Not sure if a little shaving will help without hurting the look. You might just have to deal with it. Its a flaw in the kit imo but other than that its a great looking kit. Much congrats, can't wait for full car pics.

errr.... aj..... this is nothing new, read the thread by johnny about his kits, i talked about this problem extensively
why jp didn't put in a little cut in the front of the cap like they did for the ls that's beyond me, but this is a pretty stupid problem imho
you just have to live with it

JP did add the cut to their older model vehicles like the UFC10/11-20/21 and the jzs-147..they changed the design of their doorcaps when the JZS160 was released and they have continued with this design ever since..Im assuming that they like the look better..Just compare the doorcaps on the JP UFC21 and the JZS160 and you will see what I mean..

Well since my brother has this kit I guess I should chime in as well. As for my brother's JP kit, all of his doors are functional. Fortunately for him, he works at a body-shop where they were able to deal with this. The caps were sanded down, blocked and sanded down again. From what my brother told me, it seemed like quite a bit of work dealing with the doorcaps.
