Default Windshield Glare

Just recently bought a 2001 GS 300. The windshield doesn't look pitted and looking out from it is excellent, day or night. However, at night the on-coming lights are unbearable. Lots of glare..... Looks like the glass has some king of finish on it, but not sure. Has anybody had this experience ??

Sounds like a Good Idea. Can't cost much for just the front. Worth a try.

Default Percentage

How does the Percentage work ?? Is the lower the number, lighter or darker ??

I think I have 30 on front side windows and 40 on rear windows, but not sure.

I believe the percent is how much light the tint will let thru. So 20% means 4/5th of the light is blocked and 1/5 passes thru. 50% means 1/2 is blocked. So lower percent means darker....higher = brighter. Please correct me if im wrong guys.

What do u do when you have to change you inspection sticker every year or registration sticker every other year? doesn't it rip the tint cuz to get all the glue off i usually have to use a razor blade on the glass, or do you not stick it on the window? i want to tint my windshield but i always had a problem with this.

they took care of that for me at the tint show..you just need to get it laminated (sp) and just tape it on i think...ill check for you when i got soon and see how they did it too just to make sure

Here in Alaska that will get your car impounded. That sticker had better be "permanently affixed" to that windsheild. i guess they figure it would be too easy to move it around from car to car. But that's Alaska law.

Any tint on the front windshield other than a 4 - 6 inch brow is illegal in most states.

As for the tint being illegal, yeah, it's illegal everywhere as far as I know. I also LOVED having it on my old car because it cut virtually all glare from the interior on sunny days. And it looked cool too

For cleaning your windshield, try getting a good clay bar system (and learning how to use it). That'll take anything off your windshield. For dirt on the inside, I go with any non-ammonia glass cleaner. You'll need non-ammonia if you have tint anyway. I find Costco actually has some pretty decent stuff (not in the car section).

Best of luck!
