I used to gap mine at 35 for either nitrous or my blower and never had a problem with spark blow out and that was at over 20Lbs of boost.
If memory serves me the irridiums say not to touch the gap though.Anyone here re gapped their irridiums with good success?

irridiums are not the best for forced induction. They are more prone to misfire than copper or platnum plugs.

I have a buddy that bought a set of iridiums for his WRX and brought them to me. He asked me to gap them down before he installed them, I have a set of gapping pliers that I got from Jacobs Electronics a long time ago and they dont touch the point at all. I put them at .032" for him then he went and got a fresh tune in Atlanta. He put down 320awhp..so I guess it worked.

I usually run from .035" down to .028" depending on the car and the boost level.

Thats just plain wrong.
Every single high HP Supra runs irridiums.Or at least 99% of them.
I agree platinums are junk and I would rather run copper than plat.

Jonny,

As everyone has said definitely get that air fuel issue fixed first. You're looking at some potential engine damage if you're not careful.

This is an older dyno of mine and I've got a bit more out of mine since, but its one I have on hand with fuel/air. Contrary to what jtanoyo1 said it's pretty much on the money IMO w/o a standalone. Mine is a custom SRT SC ECU but it does pretty much the same thing as your SAFC at the end of the day.

This dyno is with more fuel in my setup vs yours (I think) though with RC 370cc injectors and a Walbro High Volume fuel pump. Oh, and irridium plugs

So you know every supra guy in the whole world? Bwahahahahaa. What ever you say dude.

Supra's are not the only turbo cars out there..........Ive seen iridium fanataics change there "tune" on the plugs. Even my brothers DSM was getting misfire and he was pro iridium cause EVO use them. There are stories on honda tech where the iridiums were even melting.

For turbo I think it's a waste, just buy the coppers and change them every 5000kms for optimum performance.

Look I'm not trying to get in a pissing match with you.No I dont know all the supra guys in the world.
But I know quite a few that make between 800RWHP and 1500RWHP.Some of them very well.I've even worked on a few of them.I also know one of the best tuners around,Jason Siebels, hes one of the guys who DESIGNED the AEM computer system. And he pretty much wont touch a supra without irridiums.
I'm not saying they're the only game in town, because I made a ton of power with my 2 steps colder motorcraft copper plugs.Probably more power than ANY of us are going to make with our Lexus in the next 5 years.
So yes copper is okay, but the irridiums allow more timing and more complete combustion.

Oh, and if some HONDUH idiot melted his irridiums hes DEFINATELY doing something wrong. You should DEFINATELY take his advice!!!

Hey Jonny,
Can you post your "HI throttle" setting so we can see how your tuner has your fuel corrections vs. RPMs ?
I know sockfocks said that the middle range richness was mapped at -19% fuel. But is that -19% from 3500pm to 5500 rpm?. Did you try taking more than 19% from the middle range?

lets get back on topic and see what we can do to get THIS car starightened out.

DX3.. just set it in list form.. go thru the SAFC and give us all the info..HI throttle, LO throttle, even the Ne Points and TH point (the switchover from LO to HI)

Did you get the FPR installed yet? prob already know this, but make sure you have a guage too..

Epik,

Thx for bringing us back on track.

I have not gotten the FPR installed yet. Joe and I need to check and see what pressure we have there right now before I spend the $150 on a new one!

I will get the numbers for you. Just out of curiosity - what does the Ne actually mean??

Thx again,
Jonny

I dont know the definition of "Ne" but it is the actual RPM points that are set for the basis of adjustment. If you have a SAFC2, you have 12 points to choose from, in 200 rpm increments.
