engine vibrations/low idle solved
I dont recall ever seeing a useful DIY on engine mount.
Changing the engine mount on the GS4 requires lifting the engine up by a few inches, otherwise it's impossible to get the mounts out.

i have recently decided to start making my car more comfortable. meaning getting rid of all the car vibrations (alignment, wheel balance), engine vibrations (motor mount), and wind noises.
before i thought my motor was vibrating at idle because of my intake on my gs400, but after this thread... it makes sense that the motor mount are bad. i can't wait to get this done. maybe replacing the motor mount will even fix some of the popular 60mph vibration which a lot of ppl have.

Engine mount wont fix the 60mph vibration, I can tell you that. But it does make your idle brand new again. I can't really feel anything at the stoplight. A/C engages without feeling the clunk, and no vibration through the steering wheel at idle.
The transmission mount maybe probably have some affect on your ride, especially if you're driving on a not so smooth surface. Our transmission mount is very tired by now. If you ever get a chance to look at the mount, you'll see that mounts have collapsed to the point where you have metal to metal contact. As you drive over the bumpy road, the metal will hit each other and cause weird vibration and clunks. It'll make more sense when you look at the mount. Also, having a new tranny mount puts less stress on the engine mounts.
BTW, I replaced my mounts a year ago, but I just replaced my tranny mount this morning. It took me a whoopin 10 minutes from the moment I jacked up my car to the time I let it back down

Damn Gsteg. You should have taken a few pics of the process. Some of us are on a need for a DIY on these mounts. If by the time I get them no one has posted one I will figure it out and take some shots.

I didn't take pictures because I didn't think anyone would need them. Its almost self explanatory when you look under the tranny. It's as easy as removing a few bolts/nuts. As long as the jack is under the transmission, then you should be good 
strut tower brace should be installed with the car raised so the uppermounts are relieved of any stress and balanced out. If it's an adjustable, adjust it, then lower it so it'll have equal load on each uppermount.

wow, what a great discovery, so this will fix the problem of the whole car jittering while im at a stop 
other than lifting the engine up, is the change a hard job, what is the estimated time of completion, hahaha, just curious
