Are the chrome trunk bars Chrome Plastic or Chrome Metal??? Not the mask one, the one that replace the whole trunk bar??

Not that I know of. I know that Toyota japan makes them and also an aftermarket brand in taiwan makes them also.

 

Actually, I just checked and we can get the aftermarket ones also. $100 shipped!

actually the aristo chrome bar they are plastic. i have gotten a few before and they are all super light. unless they are titanium

 

I, too, believe the OEM trunk bars are plastic with the decorative chrome plating. The bar is just too light to be metal ( and Rom, aluminum is lighter than titanium , just not as strong as titanium ).

 

oh is that right? i never actually had possession of the toyota ones. the aftermarket ones are metal pieces though. but those aren't replacement pieces, they're stick on pieces that goes over the original ones.

 

What do the stock trunk bars that come on the car go for?

 

According to my parts/pricing list ....it goes for $56.10 (painted).

Oh...and btw...the Toyota chrome piece is plastic....I just installed mines last night....same part # too.

Lastly, the ones on ebay.....there are 3 versions....

- chrome sticker film to cover OEM piece (cheapy one)....sold by makotoautotrends
- stainless steel front add-on cover to OEM piece that uses 3M double-stick tape. The underside (where the license plate lights and the handles) are NOT covered and remain exposed....sold by makotoautotrends
- then there is the real deal Full Replacement ones sold by kalokb.

I got the real deal one.

ah yeah, the aftermarket stick on piece that's possible. i have seen it before, wouldn't be surprsied if it's a thin piece of metal

 

OK GREAT i was checking because i got the plastic Toyota Aristo one from kalokb on ebay, when it arrived today it was NICE, But i wanted to make sure it was suppost to be plastic and not metal!!!
