Exclamation Problem need help please ..CEL blinking

ok i was on my way down to a car show today

when all of a sudden the CEL comes on and starts blinking ....i was on the highway when this first came on

i pull over and it sounds like i have an exhaust leak ....rumbling sounds ....feels like it not idling right

but the tach is right at 600 ...checked my oil ..good ...all my fluids are good

i know the whole autozone thing and i searched for like an hour

kinda worried about this one .....if the CEL light came on and stayed i wouldnt be so concerned

but for it to blink concerns me ...not to mentin the rough idle or exhaust leak

guys i really need your help here

thanks

johnny

the leaky exhaust might be messing with the reading of the oxygen sensors, so the CEL turned on. Try to find out where the exhaust leak is coming from, who knows, maybe one of the oxygen sensors came loose. After you find the leak and fix it, reset the computer.

I'd have to agree with that. find out where/why you have an exhaust leak and get it running right first.. could be an 02 sensor

Q:::My check engine light is always on but runs fine then yesterday I noticed that it seemed like it did not have quite the power it usually has but seemed to run ok. Then I was sitting in a parking lot at idle and noticed an occasional stutter in the idle. It did not kill just stuttered a little, then the check engine light started blinking. After killing it when I restarted the check engine light was just on like it normally is and not blinking. It did repeat this at another point in the day yesterday.

A:: When the light starts flashing, you have a fueling problem that is life threatening to the cat converters. Run it by an AutoZone and let them pull the codes for you.

------------------found this ....im a little relieved but nervous to drive it now

Hey Johnny sorry you couldnt make it man. Trust me, when my tranny crapped out on my 96 GS3, I had that same sound in my voice when I called for help!! I know the feeling bro.

the show was actually pretty nice, and a couple people asked for you too. Its ok though, theres a bunch of other shows on the horizon anyway.

good luck and see you soon

sorry i couldnt make it guys but i think ive got good news

i dont know why i didnt consult the service manual first

but it might be a possible engine misifre and one of the causes is a loose vacuum hose

so i just checked and sure enough i found one must have came loose on the palisades

im stil pissed i couldnt make it

or it could be a bad spark plug ...i should change anyway

laters
