Paint is Great!
And down here in the South, in a black car, you'll get a personal preview of hell should you accidentally touch the paint or sit in the car without venting it on any beautiful sunny day between mid-April to mid -September. I figure my time will come soon enough.......no need to remind me!!!

There is a new product that just hit the shelves of your local auto parts store called DUCKY. It is specifically for water spots and works as advertised. It EASILY removes water sports by just wiping on and then off. Not harmful to the paint or clear coat. I swear by it.

Where do they sell DUCKY? I just had to spend about 90 minutes again today to get the water spots out and to wax the back of my black GS430car which is unprotected from the rain in my partially covered parking spot.

Do you carry aloe vera in your glove compartment or do you plan on waiting until you get home to deal with the burns??

Mooretorque, that's why I chose the gray interior. I'll only get second degree burns here in Atlanta while you're dealing with a third degree roasting.
CEOART - A good cover will save you countless hours of work. I've owned a number of black cars and I speak from experience. It takes about 45 seconds to put one on and 60 seconds to take on off and roll it up. In that ocean climate the corrosion damage can be significant and you won't realize it right away.

Sorry about the double post. When I get a server error reply, I repost. Soemtimes it does that double thang, sometimes not.
Marty, I had the gray ("anthracite") interior on my previous coupe. After 8 years, I decided to go a little different........plus, I wanted a little more contrast between the Millenium Silver ext and the interior. But I've got plenty of asbestos to insulate my butt........nobody seems to want that stuff anymore.....smells good too. And to take care of any hot spots the asbestos might miss, Silvadene is the burn cream of choice. It occasionally stains things black, but then, there's that black interior again so who's to know.
Actually, since I steer with my feet, my legs don't really contact the seating surface.

Does lexus and mercedes use the same type of paint? Because I've seen a Silver E430 that is SO SHINY that its like having a black car ! I mean that car was sooo shiny that you can see your self clearly on the paint. I never seen a silver GS like that ! So I was curious if MB uses some different type of painting process.
