Default IS paint Sux

What the hell is wrong with the paint on this car? My car is barely a year old with only 8k miles on it. As you can see in the picture the paint is totally gone in 3 places. I had a honda accord 2001 for 5 years and 40k miles and there was not one nick like the ones on this IS. Is there anyone I can contact because this makes me sick. Knowing I paid this much money & the paint is this cheap.

Someone needs to learn how to wash/dry their car. That's absurd to blame the paint.

I think he's talking about the 3 big chips. His car is dirty. Yes the paint sucks, it chips easily.

this is all cuz of not caring for the paint. With a clay bar all the swirls marks go away (I think) And for the chip marks, you probably didnt get a clear bra for ur car unless the chips are some other place on ur car.

The front..Your prob right about the clear bra...I didnt know & the dealer didnt mention anything. I didnt think a 35k car would need a clear bra to protect the paint....LOL pitiful Is there anyway to fix the marks? They are small, & get the clear bra now?

I went through a automatic car wash and it chipped off some paint near the seam of my fender and bumper.

Well The dealer wont tell you anything about it, u will have to ask urself. And every car goes thru this type thing. I mean you cant stop a rock thats coming at you when ur going about 60Mph. The clear Bra wil help prevent these types of things and not only that bugs too. Well to ffix the chips you might have to ask ur dealer since he will have the right paint. Other than that i dont know what else could be don unless some one else has a suggestion. Oh yea for the Clay Bar, do a search, you will find what you need in the Car care section on the Forum home page.

I agree with the OP. My car is 7 months old with about 8k miles. I just washed it this weekend and I felt sick to my stomach afterwards. The number of chips on the front bumper is at least 10. I drive half highway half city miles. I never follow trucks closely and the car paint is taken care of very well. I have never put a clear bra on a car and never owned a car that was so susceptible to rock chips. Its sad cause the front end is the best view of the IMO.

Just close your eyes as you walk toward the car and open your eyes once your in it. JK! Yea they suck really bad. My car is white and when you walk by my front bumper, you`ll see black spots all over. That`s where the paint chipped off. I don`t know what to do either. Sad
