Default Waterpump

I just got my 90K service done including timing belt/pulleys/waterpump, I was wondering is the waterpump visible to the eye if you just open the hood or is it inside the engine? because a friend of mine took a look and thinks that the waterpump was not replaced...

anyone know?

I'm not sure exactly where it is but I assume it is driven by the serpentine belt that runs along the front of the engine. One of the pulley that the belt turns should be the water pump.
