Default Ride Comparison?

Has anyone ridden in a 2000 GS400 and a 2000 LS400? I'm betting that the ride quality of the GS will be worse than the LS considering the LS is luxury focused, but I'm wondering just how much worse the GS is? If it's not really that bad, or not a noticeable difference, I think I'll get the GS Thanks for the help guys!

My experience with my current 99 GS4 and previous 93 LS4 is that they are very close with the stock 16 rims. They both have soft ride. I'm sure the 2000 LS4 is much improved than my 93. A test drive will be the best.

Can you comment on cabin noise?

As others will tell you, the GS is not a quiet car, plain and simple. My parents have owned several LS4x0's, and they are truly whisper quiet. I owned a 98 GS400 with 17s, so I can't say for sure about the noise level in a 2000 GS400, but they are probably pretty close. My parents now have a 03 LS430 and previously had a 00 LS400, both of which were extremely quiet under most conditions.

umm, unfortunately i can't give you comparison on the gs4 vs ls4, but i can tell you about gs4/430 with the ls430 stock to stock.

the ls430 is soooo much quieter, the ride is softer, steering even looser on the ls430. the ls430 is just more luxury and comfortable to drive on, but the gs430 will give you quite a bit more road feel. and also yes, in terms of road noise i think the gs430 is a bit noiser, especially at higher speed

I used to drive my dad's 95 LS4 and compared to my GS430 w/ 17" summer tires, it was way quieter and no road noise to speak of. Just silence inside the LS's cabin, but then one is for luxury and the other sporting. Can't have both I guess. Even my dad's replacement, an ES330 is quieter.

If you are only going for Ride quality and cabin noise, then the obvious choice would be to go with the LS. It's a more luxurious car. The GS is a Sports sedan, so it has a soft ride and is quiet, but not really comparable to the LS. There are many more factors to take into consideration if your focus isn't soley on ride quality and noise. Two very different cars.
