Default Almost blew the engine! LOL

So I'm still trying to diagnose the problem here....

Yesterday, I'm doing about 90 on the highway, and I see liquid go all over my windshield. Then I noticed white smoke, and eventually my check battery light. I pulled over, opened the hood, and noticed that anti-freeze went everywhere, and my serpentine belt looked like a bunch of spaghetti noodles.

I think that the thermostat didn't open or allow any flow, which made the water pump blow, and then finally the engine got too hot, so the belt just ripped. Any other guesses?

the serpentine belt only drives generator + power steering + a/c con
the timing belt drives water pump and cam shafts...if your engine runs, then the timing belt is fine
check your cooling system and hope that you didn't cook your heads...
i assume your serpentine belt was torn, right?

The serpentine belt was literally in pieces. The only thing that confuses the **** out of me, is the anti-freeze going everywhere.

Would should I try doing to test this? A new belt (obviously), and then just try turning the car on?
