i have a 2000 TL with bose system and it is so much better than Nakamichi system in the GS4 that i just bought. And i know Nakamichi is alreayd the upgraded version. I dont know if anyone else think the same way but the overall sound is alot better. More clear and the base is more solid.
you gotta be kidding me man... i don't know about nak, but the stock pionner system on my gs4 completely blew away the crappy bose on my tl-s... all people on acura forum says that so it's not just me.... that system has no base, mid is ok but tre is pretty weak. overall that's just a bad system. maybe with a better sub and amp it could be better....
considering that the nak was a upgrade of the gs4 audio i could only imagine it to be better. for sure the ML is like 10 times better. listening to that on my sc430 i realize how "normal" the system is on my gs4..
You better have your hearing checked. I had a 99 TL with a Blose and the sound was terrible. In fact I refuse to buy my wife a Honda minivan because it has a Blose. Bose=Better profits thru advertising
I have a 01' CL-S and the stock Bose audio is horrible. I haven't heard the GS Nak system, but my parents old 93 LS400 Pioneer system is soo much better then the one in the CL-S.
I have to agree with everyone else on this one. My stock pioneer system trounces my GF's 2002 TL-S Bose system. First off she has no tweeters on her doors, (that makes a huge diff). Secondly the stereo in the TL assaults you because it is strained to put out the music. I have not heard the NAK in a GS but I know the one in my buddy's LS is slightly better than my system.
I wonder if your NAK is messed up some how? Maybe check the settings on the radio or see if any speakers are blown...
I just purchased a 2000 GS300 platinum series(silver w/black leather). The nak system in my car sounds great compaired to my old aftermarket pioneer w/ infinity speakers. Looking for a pair of feet for my GS. What would be the correct size to mount on?
My mother has a 2000 TL with the Bose system. My Pioneer system in my 99 GS blows it away. My sister has a Bose system in her '97 Pathfinder. It has more bass than my Pioneer due to the door speakers, but in order to turn the volume up on her Pathfinder, you have to cut down the bass. My Pioneer system is very balanced and sounds awesome when you crank it up. Never heard the Nak system, so I can't compare. But, I did hear the Levinson system in a '02 GS for a total of 3 minutes or so, and couldn't tell a huge difference comepared to my Pioneer, but then again, I was only in the car for 3 minutes.
There is a saying in the audio industry: "All highs, no lows... must be Bose."
We call it "Blows" for short...
I have heard Bose systems in several cars, including Nissans and our company Tahoe... I can tell you you could not PAY me to have one of these systems in my car. The Bose system in the 350z is absolutely awful- the vocals sound as if they are underwater.
When it comes to marketing, Dr. Bose is a genius- they have built a name and reputation for being innovators. Unfortunately, the reality is their stuff sucks. When heard in a store like Best Buy, the Bose home systems demonstrate with a significant amount of 'sizzle' (relative to other brands), but most audiophiles find prolonged periods of listening to Bose systems to be very fatiguing.
The Lexus NAK , for a stock system, is pretty darned good- as an audiophile myself, I would say Bose does not make an OE car system that can hold a candle to it.
Of course, you are entitled to your own opinion... and a pair of hearing aids.

"Can you hear me now" b/c you do need your ears checked. The Lexus Nakamichi systems were considered the best in any automobile stock. I have lots of experience in the Bose in the TL and my old Nissan Sentra with 4 speakers could go toe to toe with it.
