The sunroof shade, mechanism on the Lexus GS300 will go down as one the largest failures of Toyota/Lexus. This thread has had over 80K hits!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goddam what does that tell you. Only way to fix is rip off sunroof shade, weld hole in roof. I stuck papers, rags, foam, every technique in this post and the noise always returns. I never purchased another car with a sunroof after the rattle trap GS300.

New to the gs300. This thread had me looking in all the wrong places. Being a 23 year old car now my problem didn't exist when this thread was created. I recently bought a creampuff 118k on the clock 2002 GS300. My sub was disconnected when i bought the vehicle. Its the Mark Levinson Edition. I had the annoying rattle going over uneven pavement. After checking the sunroof per Rominl it seemed not to be the problem. So, after checking the seatbelts, baby hooks, i narrowed it down to the sub. Wallah!! In 2025 check your deteriorating sub woofer. Hope this helps someone.Originally Posted by XYZLexus1
