Thumbs up Fix Works

Been driving around for a couple of weeks with the "fix" in place and it does indeed correct the rattle problem I had with the sunroof. And the inner shade stays put - no longer slips open when once closed. I used some thick pieces of felt.

I put just a little to start but then jammed a lot more into the secret spot. And since whatever you jam in there has to move, I thought that felt would slide better and hold up longer than the foam that was recommended. Good luck.

hey glad it worked out good for you red, it's good to get some confirmations from people about the fix!

I have to say this is an awsome thread.

(Newbie here... just bought a white GS4 '98)

Before I go and pry in some foam - does this notorious rattle sound like a clicking sound? I get a moderately loud "click" once in a while and I wondering what it was. I thought it was the new baby seat that we put in, but after close listening (and almost getting into an accident) I realized that it was the sunroof.

So hope someone out there can confirm if the rattle is a click...

I had the click on my 98. I think that's something entirely different. There is a technical service bulletin about the clicking noise (although I think it's entitled something like sunroof clicking/rattling noise). My sunroof shade never slid back and forth or rattled. It was just that annoying clicking every once in a while. And it was just one loud click, not really a rattle. Is that what you have?
