Does anyone know of any SYNTHETIC blends of tranny oil for the Lexus GS400?

Unhappy Haven't Found Any Yet!

Mariusz - I checked with Mobil & Redline & neither of them had a synthetic tranny fluid for the GS yet. Mo says the Toyota stuff's pretty good itself, BTW.

Default True

I don't doubt that the Toyota tranny fluid is good. However, I put E X C E S S I V E stress on my car during my 250 mile trips to and from NJ.

Thanks for looking into that for me. I appreicate it

Mariusz,

The Toyota dealer said it is the same fluid that they put into the Supra TT, so it must be good stuff, plus they have to ship it from japan.

Question How often should you change fluid

How often should the tranny fluid be changed? I commute in stop and go city traffic five days a week, and, along with putting a ton of stress on my brakes, I'm sure my tranny hates me by now....

I have 79k miles right now, and I think I changed the tranny fluid at 60k miles...

Exclamation Drain Intervals

Eddie - U did your FIRST fluid change at 60k? Yep, I'm sure your tranny hates U now!! Think the Lexus manual says to change at 30k intervals & Mo says 15k would be best if you have a TC. It's a simple drain & refill thing as the filter is designed to be cleaned at 100k & reinstalled, or so I'm told by my Lexus techs.

mean gene is right. I do it every 15-20k also.
It is roughly $25 for a gallon jug. plus it is pretty easy to change if you can get it on a lift.
smells bad though.

Holy cow!! I had no idea!! To clarify, I purchased the car with 53k miles, so I am hoping the tranny fluid was changed at the regular service intervals before then... I'll change my fluid ASAP, thanks for the advice guys!
